Our journey from Chefchaouen to Fes takes us on a historical adventure, with visits tosome of the most culturally significant landmarks in Morocco. Here, we'll discover the fascinating excavations of this once-thriving city, whichdates back to the 3rd century BC. Our next stop is the imperial city of Meknes, known forits rich history and cultural heritage. We'll visit the magnificent Bab Mansour gate,famous for its intricate arches and stunning mosaic tiling. This is a truly impressive workof art that reflects the grandeur of Morocco's imperial past. After a full day of exploring,we'll retire to our overnight stay in Fes, one of Morocco's oldest and most fascinatingcities. From the ancient Medina to the bustling souks and vibrant cultural scene, Fes is acity like no other, and our stay here is sure to be a highlight of the trip.
After breakfast, the drive takes you to Todra Gorge in Tinghir. The breathtaking views ofthe Gorge views and river attract hikers to the area. The trip crosses the desert towns ofErfoud and Rissani. As the journey ends on the edge of the Merzouga desert, there is anopportunity to enjoy traditional mint tea as prepare for your two-hour camel trek. The trekwill take you to your desert camp where you will stay overnight, enjoying dinner,campfires, and local desert music under the bright stars of the desert night.
Enjoy the sunrise in the early morning. After breakfast, quad biking activity crosses thedunes back to the car. The journey takes an alternative route to enjoy more sightseeingalong Alnif to Tazarin, Draa Valley, and Ait Souen mountains towards Ouarzazate. Thefinal stage of your trip will take you back to Marrakech and drop you off at youraccommodation by the evening.
Heading to Essaouira via Chichawa village, Sidi El Mokhtar, Argan forest where we canspot goats climbing Argan trees. We learn more about how Argan oil is extracted at alocal ladies’ cooperative. Reaching Essaouira around 11:00 am, free time visiting thecity. There are many places to visit such as the fishing port of Essaouira, Skala Kasbah,which was a citadel in the times of war, and the Medina of Essaouira which can beexplored easily as the streets are aligned opposite to every other Medina street inMorocco, which look like a maze, and Walk down the beach, etc.. Getting back to thevan around 4:00 pm to drive back to Marrakech by early evening. Overnight stay inMarrakech.
