Itinerary
Pick up from your accommodation in Marrakech. We start by crossing the High AtlasMountains, passing many charming Berber villages en route, and ascending to thehighest peak of Tickha, where there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the stunning andpicturesque views of the High Atlas Mountains range. We will visit the Telouet Kasbah,built in the 18th century. This magnificent stronghold was the residence of the influentialGlaoui family, who played a significant role in Moroccan politics. We will also visit the AitBen Haddou Kasbah, a famous 17th-century fortress classified by UNESCO, to preserveand protect this renowned site. Over the years, its fame built on its appearances in filmssuch as Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, andPrince of Persia. You will have lunch at a restaurant near the Kasbah. The journey takesyou past Skoura city, through the Valley of Roses towards Kalaat M’gouna, and finally,entering Boumalne Dades, where you will have dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, our journey will be scenic toward the picturesque Todra Gorge in Tinghir.The awe-inspiring views of the gorge and its flowing river make it a sought-afterdestination for hikers. As you continue your journey, you'll pass through the desert townsof E’rfoud and Rissani, each offering unique glimpses into the local culture and heritage.As the drive concludes at the edge of the desert, prepare for an extraordinaryexperience as you mount your camels or hop into the 4WD vehicle, venturing into thebeautiful pink sands of Morocco's highest dunes. Take your time to wander and explorethe dunes before settling down to witness the captivating sunset. As the evening sets in,indulge in a delectable Moroccan cuisine dinner and enjoy the melodic tunes oftraditional live music around the campfire. Engage in conversations with locals, embracethe rhythmic beats through drumming lessons, or bask in the tranquil ambiance of thedesert. You will spend the night in cosy Berber tents, surrounded by the serene silenceof the desert. Marvel at the breath-taking sight of the Milky Way stretching across the pitch-black night sky, and if luck permits, you may even catch a glimpse of shootingstars, adding a touch of magic to your desert experience.
We start our journey to Fes, leading us through E’rrachidia and the breath-taking ZizValley with its difficult passage. Along the way, we pass Midelt, a bustling commercialcentre surrounded by a vast agricultural landscape. The journey also takes us throughthe Cedar forests, renowned for being a habitat for the unique sub-population of Barbarymacaques known as Macaca Sylvanus. Our next stop is I’frane, famous for its alpine-style architecture, nearby ski slopes, and pristine forests. As we continue our journey,you will be captivated by the iconic lion statue. By early evening, we will reach youraccommodation in Fez.
